"That's the kind of game a year ago we would have lost 1-0, but tonight we managed to win it 1-0. We know a little bit better how to cope with the kind of game Wigan gave us because it was physical.
"Overall I feel they are learning quickly. They showed great spirit, great resilience and that is why we've got the result tonight. The team is improving every week. We have played better combining football previously, but I like it when my team can win a game like that.
"I have been trying to instil that into the players because last season we lost many games like this one. This season we lost at Manchester City, yet this was a much more difficult game for us than that one.
"But West Ham, they had one shot on goal and we lost 1-0. I think we have learned not to make mistakes."
