Not only one of the greatest goalkeepers to play in the Premier League ? one of the greatest English goalkeepers of all time, David Seaman was an integral part to the Arsenal success of the late '90s and early '00s. Seaman played over 300 times in the Premier League for Arsenal as well as spending the majority of his career as first choice England goalkeeper.
At the time of signing ? Seaman cost Arsenal a record transfer fee for a goalkeeper. His performances justified that tag immediately. In the 90/91 season Seaman conceded only 18 goals in the 38-game season. The 02/03 season ? Semans final season at Arsenal was undoubtedly his most successful.
Premier League trophy and FA cup was won both by Arsenal. The match was most remarkable however as it was Semans 1000th career appearance ? and he was also able to lift the FA cup in absence of the injured Patrick Viera.
Seaman is the most capped goalkeeper for Arsenal and second in all time appearances behind Ray Parlour in the all time Premiership appearances for The Gunners.
He made his England debut in 1988 and appeared for the side in fifteen consecutive years, a national record.
