As Manchester United step up their chase for Cesc Fabregas, Wenger has indicated that Arsenal are certainly interested in Wayne Rooney.
The sale of Rooney (hopefully to us) will swell the United coffers and help fund an increased bid for Cesc.
Wenger says this:
"Rooney is under contract and has two years to go so it's United who make the decision, but we would not have a problem with the wages of Rooney."
Given that Rooney earns an astronomical amount of money at United and would not be prepared to expect a big cut, this implies that Arsenal are prepared to bust the club wages policy wide open - interesting.
Liverpool have also confirmed that we made a bid for Suarez, widely reported to be in the region of thirty million quid - more evidence that we're now prepared to play with the big boys as far as spending in concerned.
All we need now is somebody to close these deals fast, and that might be a big ask - it's certain that things are about to get very lively though.
Bring it on.
