Sven-Goran Eriksson left Seaman out of his squad to face Portugal in a friendly at Villa Park on Saturday but the 38-year-old keeper has warned the two keepers that replaced him, they face a fight to displace him from the team for competitive games.

David James (West Ham) and Paul Robinson (Leeds) were the keepers chosen in place of Seaman by Eriksson for the Portugal game.

Seaman, who has 73 caps, said:"My attitude has always been that the day I retire from England is the day I retire from the game altogether. And I'm already committed to playing for Arsenal for the rest of the season."
