Fans nowadays try and make the best of it by applying together in groups of four or five to in the hope that they're near similar groups but all too often, you're stuck by tourists, couples, day-outers and people who aren't generally interested in the team for whatever reason.
The away scheme went a small way to combating this but even now, this has been too unreliable in terms of atmosphere. REDaction have been working towards a solution and after months of meetings and discussions have managed to secure an allocation of tickets that any fans can apply for. This allocation will be well-positioned in each away ground and allow the loudest and most passionate of us to sit together for each away game.
Here's how to apply for the Away REDsection:
- Find out how many of your group want to attend the match
- Submit postal application to:
Away REDsection – FAO Mike Bohndiek
Highbury House
75 Drayton Park
London
N5 1BU
Please note that the usual AFC ticket application terms and conditions apply and although we will endeavour to get you tickets in the Away REDsection, we cannot guarantee it. As with all postal applications, the AFC staff who will receive your application will require names, membership numbers and a method of payment.
The first game will be for Charlton at The Valley on Saturday 30th September. As with all types of applications, this will work alongside the credit requirement policy. So do a ring around and join the group! The deadline for postal applications is 18th September. Those who apply after the deadline will have to sit elsewhere in the ground if all tickets have been allocated as allocation is on a first come, first service basis.
