Premier League debut for Chamakh at Anfield

Whether he'll partner van Persie up front is another matter - Arsene Wenger has deemed that the Dutchman is short of match fitness, as is Cesc Fabregas apparently.

Definite non-starters are Bendtner, Djourou and Ramsey - all with long term injuries, while Song, Denilson and Diaby are also out of contention.

Another debutant will be Laurent Koscielny who'll start alongside the Verminator at the back. Let's just pray that neither of them get crocked, because with Sol and Gallas gone and the aforementioned Djourou and Song injured it's hard to see where the experienced replacements are coming from.

Wenger says: "I have spoken to Laurent and he will discover the Premier League on Sunday. You can talk and talk but at the end of the day the players show what they can do on the pitch and he will have an opportunity to do that."

I expect Almunia will start between the sticks, but let's hope that we acquire a serious quality keeper before the transfer window slams shut, or we're dead in the water this season.

Liverpool will be strong, and the players will be giving everything in their first competitive game under the superb Roy Hodgson, so it's not going to be easy - three points please lads.
