Arsenal's hopes of bringing Frenchman Yann M'Vila were boosted as the player rejected a move to Zent St Petersburg following death threats from their fans.
According to reports in Saint Petersburg, Zenit ultras have sent racially motivated letters to M'Vila warning that his life would be in danger if he moved to the club.
Zenit, who's first-team squad does not include any black players, have a policy of not signing certain players based on their skin colour, according to former manager Dick Advocaat.
The defensive midfielder is seen as a perfect replacement for recently departed Alex Song, who headed for Barcelona last week.
The 21-year-old has been a long term for Arsene Wenger who has a knack for signing young gifted players from around Europe and turning them into stars and a move for the Frenchman would make perfect sense as he fits the criteria of a player the Arsenal Boss likes.
