I've e-mailed the supporters' liaison officer Jill Smith with a copy to the Managing Director Keith Edelman saying that we hope the club will make every effort to lay on as many forms of transport as possible given the problems with the West Coast line at the moment.
As things stand it's not possible to get back from Manchester by scheduled rail, air or coach services if the kick-off is 5.30pm-ish. There are two scheduled trains, the first at 6.55am and the second at 7.10am that would get to Manchester in time for a lunchtime kick-off and a number of scheduled trains and flights back afterwards. Not possible to get to Manchester in time for kick-off by scheduled coach.
I believe we need to urge the club to do everything possible to facilitate the attendance of the maximum number of Gooners at the game.
Please e-mail me urgently with any thoughts/suggestions on this.
