Carini was allegedly looking for 1.8 million quid a season for playing fifteen games - if that really was the case then no wonder we told him to get on his bike back to Turin!
The question remains though - do we have a contingency plan?
Nobody's doubting Seaman's ability despite his age - the only worrying factor is that he's very injury prone. It's also true that Stuart Taylor is a very promising young keeper, but can we really afford for him to be our "first reserve"? - I think not.
There are reports that Alex Manninger might well find his way back to the club, and even more unbelievable stories about Sullivan from Spurs (another "bargain buy" a la Pat Jennings?) but as yet Arsene is keeping his cards close to his chest.
I'd put money on him signing another keeper in the not too distant future though - I just don't know his name yet.
