The Telegraph report that we're waving 40 million quid in the direction of Real Madrid hoping to prise Benzema away. A great player - we need him.
Wenger appears to have given up on Suarez, saying:
"Absolutely no chance of tha. It is true that one bid for a striker did not work. That took a long time. We have to wake up from that now. I'm confident.
"The transfer market starts for me now and a lot of activity will happen between now and Sept 2. It is like a poker game. People hold their cards as long as possible. In the end, they go for decisions."
There are also reports that various clubs (including Sp**s) are in for Podolski. The German seems to have been marginalised at the club recently, which is sad because he's immensely talented. If he ends up being sold it'll be a massive retrograde step in my opinion.
This is when the action starts - we've virtually ensured qualification for the group phase of the Champions League with the 3-0 win in Turkey, so one would hope that any simmering deals that were dependant upon qualification can now proceed.
It's going to be an interesting week ahead.
