It was Aaron Ramsey?s day in Cardiff on Saturday as Arsenal stay four points clear of Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League. The Wales International was sensational on his return home to face his boyhood club, Cardiff, scoring two goals. But it wasn?t just Ramsey that shined on the pitch at the Cardiff City Stadium. Both Jack Wilshere and Mesut Ozil helped to dominate the midfield and passed seemingly at will. Their free flowing movement and ever changing lines confused and confounded a usually tough Cardiff team.
Arsenal?s midfield has been outstanding this season due to the addition of Ozil. The talent and maturity that he brings to the Arsenal side is starting to rub off on the others and it is beginning to show. Though Arsenal have hit a road block or two along the way, they are still the class of the Premier League right now.
December will be a month of excitement, anticipation and apprehension for Arsenal fans with big matches against past champions Manchester City, Chelsea and fifth place Newcastle. Though many pundits still don?t give Arsenal a chance to win the title; a good showing in December will allow them a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel and get them ready for the onslaught that comes after the New Year.
Arsene Wenger will have to guard against his players looking past lesser teams and not allow them to drop points that should be theirs for the taking. Winning breeds confidence and brings composure; Arsenal will need all of that in order to maintain the lead they currently hold over the other Premier League powerhouses. Arsene Wenger has the right players in the right place and the addition of another quality striker in the January transfer market may bring the long awaited crown home to the Emirates.
