Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere weighing up deadline day loan options

Press Association Sport understands that Arsenal could loan out the England midfielder before the window closes at 11pm on Wednesday night, with Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Bournemouth linked.

Wilshere has made just two substitute appearances for the Gunners so far this season, as boss Arsene Wenger has instead preferred Santi Cazorla in a creative midfield role.

Both players endured injury-ravaged seasons last term, but Wilshere appears to be further down the pecking order and it is believed a mutual agreement has been made between player and club that a temporary move would be beneficial

Wilshere missed most of last season due to a broken leg and while he was selected by Roy Hodgson for Euro 2016, he was left out of Sam Allardyce's first England squad

Wilshere's absence for the start of the World Cup qualification campaign came with a warning from Allardyce, that he had simply not played enough football to warrant a place

''Jack just hasn't had enough game time,'' he said on Monday

''Hopefully he will get that in the future at Arsenal

''It is a question of game time and the contribution he is making to Arsenal and he is not doing that at the moment, so I left him out.''

Wilshere has seen competition for midfield places at Arsenal grow this summer following the signing of Switzerland's Granit Xhaka in addition to Cazorla's return to fitness

Wenger also has plenty of other options in the middle of the park with Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Mohamed Elneny, Francis Coquelin and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain competing for places
