PSG paid a hefty ?64 million for Cavani in July, bringing him in from Serie A side Napoli.
Despite Cavani only joining the French side during the summer, reports claim that the Uruguay international is becoming frustrated with the lack of playing time in his preferred striker position, a position that is generally given to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
With reports claiming that the 26-year old striker is unhappy at PSG, Arsenal are seriously considering making a January move for Cavani, offering him a way out of his frustration.
A move for Cavani would make sense for Arsenal. They are in frantic need of a striker to rotate him with Olivier Giroud. Over the summer the North London club has proved that they can spend big money for world-class talent with the well-welcomed acquisition of Mesut Ozil.
Although the Gunners may have no problem paying PSG the large sum of ?64 million to complete the purchase, it is Cavani?s wages that will potentially be a problem. The striker?s yearly wages currently stand at ?8.5 million a year after taxes, which Arsenal will probably not be prepared to pay.
Arsenal have contacted Cavani?s camp in order to convince him to lower his wages but it seems that Cavani wouldn?t be interested in doing such a thing (as suggested by Sport Witness).
Arsenal?s other problem is that they are not the only team interested in Cavani. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly interested in the striker. Both Spanish giants are looking to add another striker to their lineup and would be prepared to open talks should the striker still wish to leave in the summer.
