The Gunners are eyeing a first title since 'The Invincibles' season of 2003-04 but will be aware that the season is far too close to call with big games on the horizon.
The Arsenal boss has already made one transfer this window and has suggested it could be one of the busiest on record.
The young Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos has been on the radar for some time with the interest failing to blossom into anything serious.
Last summer the player decided to commit to his present club Real Betis.
According to Spanish source Fichajes cited from the Mirror the Gunners are interested in bringing the player to the Premier League.
Ceballos, who has been compared to Cesc Fabregas has a release clause which on the face of it looks very temping at just £9.2million. This could prove to be a good investment for Wenger with the 19-year-old considered to be a promising young talent.
Arsenal would face competition from both Napoli and Atletico Madrid and his great form did prompt the award of a five-year contract last October.
The midfielder progressed through the Betis youth system which he joined in 2011, joining the senior ranks in 2014.
He has since gone on to make 51 appearances for the La Liga side, scoring 5 goals.
Betis are currently 15th in the league and have failed to win a game in the last six matches.
Ceballos has appeared for Spain at U19 and U21 level.
