The support at Ashburton Grove is rubbish.
There are no excuses for the lack of support in the ground. We have all heard all the excuses about sitting down, "the bloke next to me doesn't sing", "same old chants" etc etc. Well quite frankly, that's all bollocks! Each individual supporter needs to take responsibility and get behind the team.
If you feel like moaning then why not go up the Seven Sisters road for a few weeks and see something to really moan about?
Arsène even said yesterday that in the context of our clubs history, the recent 'drought' of trophies is minimal compared to previous times. Totally correct. However unfortunately I reckon there are a lot of supporters out there now who don't even know our club's history.
The REDsection tries its best but their chants very rarely spread out of the confines of that sector. Dare I say it but it's almost as though some parts of the ground see watching the fun and games in block 6 as part of their 'match day experience'! Obviously watching is the key part of that sentence, because that's all they do.
I know we all have different ways of showing our support for the club that we all love and I am not saying that any group of supporters is better than another group.
However, I would implore all Arsenal supporters to 'listen' to what Arsène has said and take a leaf out of the great man's book and be positive in our support. The team we have now could well be on the verge of greatness and if a committed and vocal fan base tips the likelihood of success by even 5% then it is our duty to do so.
Let's get behind the boys! We have two London Derbies in the next few days; perfect opportunities to show the players and the management that we are totally behind them. Let's turn the Grove next Wednesday into a red and white 'Bear Pit' for the visit of the relegation boys.
