Arsenal 4 Norwich 1: Player Ratings

Last updated : 22 October 2013 By Michael Jung

wilshere_norwichThe second half again saw Norwich holding their own, but conceded an Ozil goal against the run of play. They then scored, but their goal seemed to wake the Gunners and they started to attack again.

Ramsey scored a delicious goal, followed by another from Ozil. The score didn’t reflect Norwich’s efforts, but it did reflect Arsenal’s dominant attacking display.

Player Ratings:

Szczesny  7.  A solid game from Szczesny, although he wasn’t really tested.

Sagna  8.  An excellent game from Bacary. He actually had his best crossing game in years, putting in about four really good balls into the penalty area.

Mertesacker  7.  A good game for Per, who was rarely tested.

Koscielny 8.  Laurent’s best game of the season. He was solid, made no mistakes, and mopped up Norwich attacks with ease.

Gibbs  7.  A good game from Kieran, although he might have put a foot in to block Howson’s shot which scored.

Flamini 6.  I said “Ouch!” when I saw Flamini’s head bounce off the turf. Was playing well when he left and the Gunners took awhile to adjust to his absence.

Arteta  7.  Mikel’s best game of the year. He actually took a couple of shots and was making more forward passes than he has in other recent games.

Wilshere 8.  Jack scored one of the best goals ever seen in the Emirates and he looked dangerous most of the day. He glided past defenders and put in a solid defensive shift as well.

Cazorla  7.  Santi’s first game back and he did look a little rusty, but still gave glimpses of what lies in store.

Ozil 9.  My co-man of the match. He scored a brace, looked dangerous all game long, and continues to inspire the Arsenal revival.

Giroud  8.  Worked hard, had two assists, and almost scored late in the first half.

Substitutes:

Ramsey 9.  My co-man of the match. Ramsey really came to life late in the game, scoring a great goal and assisting on Ozil’s second goal. He cannot be stopped right now.

Rosicky 8.  A good game for Rosicky who pushed forward at every opportunity.

Bendtner 7.  A good game for Niklas, who almost scored late in the game and looked at home with the quick passing midfielders.
