The Arsenal sensation may have relinquished his PFA Fans? Player of the Month title to Liverpool rival Suarez, but he has already laid down a marker to reclaim his crown.
On Friday, we announced that Uruguayan striker Suarez had been named by fans up and down the country as the player of the month in the Premier for October.
It was a prestigious award Ramsey had laid claim to in September after a sensational start to the season, littered with spectacular goals, for club and country.
The Welsh international was also in the running for the October award but, ultimately, lost out to Suarez who hit an instant purple patch following his suspension-delayed start to the season.
So what better time for Ramsey to send out a message to the new Kop idol than the weekend clash between Arsenal and Liverpool; and what better way to say ?I want my crown back??
The Gunners? 2-0 victory opened up a five-point gap at the top of the table and Ramsey brilliantly converted the all-important second goal, his tenth of the season.
Ramsey has been an inspiration this season, not just to his Arsenal colleagues but footballers everywhere presented with the challenge of coming back from a career-threatening injury.
The free-scoring midfielder, typical of his dedication, is adamant that he will not rest on his laurels and he aims to become a consistent scorer like seasoned campaigners such as Lampard and Gerrard.
Reflecting on his crucial second goal in the 2-0 win, after Santi Cazorla?s equally brilliant opener, Ramsey said: "I just thought why not try an effort from distance and thankfully it went in.
"I was just waiting for the ball to sit up nicely so I could strike it cleanly, and I managed to do that. I'm feeling a lot more confident in front of goal and that is up there with the best I've scored.
"I've looked up to players like Lampard and Gerrard over the last ten years or so and the amount of goals they get is quite remarkable, so that is what I am aiming to do."
Ramsey is not just setting down markers in terms of player of the month stakes, he?s also putting his name in the frame for player of the season.
Long may his run of wonderful form continue. No-one deserves it more after all he has been through!
