Who can build a major-league level stadium entirely with private money and make it pay off? - At first blush, you'd say: "Nobody."
... Just how useless are we? - A tribute to the moaners of this world.
It's been three seasons since I frequented the west lower. The need to get a degree has meant that I've spent the past three seasons in Leeds watching endless games at the pub.
Thursday 04 August and time for something different: Members Day. This relaxed and informal two hour training session is the ideal opportunity for fans and players to get reacquainted, before the new season begins.
Now that the club has revealed the cost of tickets at Emirates Stadium we can fairly accurately work out the match day revenue at the new stadium. They will huge, and will truly elevate Arsenal into 'The Big League' in financial terms.
Friday night I had the pleasure of attending the REDaction event in the Clockend Mezzanine Suite at Highbury. As always I found it weirdly unnatural to be walking to the ground when there was no game on, quite why I always find this to be such a surreal experience I've no idea.
I feel complete sorrow at the departure of Patrick Vieira. There are many words that I could use to describe him and his influence on the team – a few that spring to mind are: towering; majestic; inspirational; monumental, awesome and talismanic.
Personally I wouldn't have thought so, but maybe it is the norm for fixing of all descriptions to go on in Portuguese football.
If you're an Arsenal supporter, the closed season is always – and I mean always – hard work.
I've always tried to steer well clear of Arsenal metaphors; trying to rationalise my relationship with my beloved club just seems a little futile. Your love for your football club is an inexplicable phenomenon and should be celebrated for it.
No one would argue that Chelski didn't deserve to win the League. They deserved it because they've played the most consistent points winning football and that is what the Championship is all about.
My dad was always having a pop at the fact that I've champagne tastes, with beer money. Yet when it comes to Highbury I guess he's largely to blame for my appetite for the high life, after introducing me to the wonders of the West Upper as a wee lad.
There have always been those players who have divided a crowd. At Arsenal the likes of Martin Keown, Ray Parlour and, before THAT goal, Mickey Thomas were as jeered as they were cheered during long spells of their Arsenal careers.
I feel a little aggrieved. Usually after a night like Wednesdays, I feel angry or at least a little annoyed. This time I have enjoyed no such Champions League hangover.
When the world's most overpaid union official opened his gob to criticise Arsenal over their lack of English players I can only presume he did so with the full knowledge that many of his members owe a great deal to Arsenal Football Club.
Everything has already been said, written and commented on. The theories are endless. While Chelsea fans gloat in self-satisfaction, we Gooners are sick to death of the articles, the question, the jibes…and yet we can't seem to find an adequate explanation for what has happened.
